Hello my name is Andrew Nelson Leonberger, I was born on July 27, 1988 on the island called Guam. I moved with my parents to Upper Marlboro, Maryland and graduated from Frederick Douglass High School. I currently live in Arlington, Virginia and attend The Art Institute of Washington. I am going for my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Web Design & Interactive Media.
My very first job was working for The Art Institute of Washington as a graphic designer. The hard part in the web industry is getting into the business side of Web & Graphic Design. I have learned that it is not only about art but also how to market your self. Another key I found is developing a big network to get more experience, contacts and ideas for my future.
Since the age of 8, I have enjoyed working with computers. My father introduced me to computers and gave me the inspiration for building them. I was a serious gamer and I was interested in how the developers made the textures for the character models. I started scripting and texturing for character models. I studied graphic and web design in the 8th grade. Then I moved to creating signatures that is a graphic that represents you on a forum. What helped me a lot was posting on forums and receiving feedback on how to make my work stronger. After making signatures I started making web layouts and learning code from Dreamweaver 4.
A good friend from Australia started giving me tips and tutorials on how to use Adobe Photoshop and its extensions. I started learning more and more, gradually staying up over night exploring and creating art. I love and enjoy the digital art field because it gives me a path to open up many different experiences throughout my life. While gaining these experiences, I developed a talent that uses my imagination to create art in reality. I love art with a passion and I am always up for the challenge of learning new things.
